Overall good experience, but could be so much better.
We arrived here at 5 pm on a Sunday, and were seated immediately by a very polite hostess. The table was clean and quiet, and my fiancee and guests were pleased with their entrees. I can recommend the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, which is exactly what you would expect. The portion was good sized, and it arrived promptly and at the right temperature. I was told by my fiancee that the escargot is also very good. The waiter could use a bit more training on wine, but was otherwise attentive and anticipated our needs very well. We look forward to our next visit! Thank you.
My husband and I came for our 1 year wedding anniversary this past Saturday around 5. The food was fantastic. We sat in the bar area and the bartender was so sweet and friendly. My one compliant is that there was a young man at the host stand in a button down and red shoes (shorter fella) and he was raising his voice and being so rude to the sweet kid at the host stand. It was so uncomfortable to me and others that were waiting because we all noticed. That shouldn't happen in front of guests. I felt so bad for the young fella.
The main course was better. Talapia blackened with grilled vegetables. Again the tarter sauce was out of a bottle.
The secret recipe corn muffins were good, not great.
The food was amazing! It's better than red lobster and about the same price. The service was ok but I forgive him because he was a new waiter. They have a wide variety of items so you are sure to find something that you will like.
My server was polite, but had essentially no training. He didn't know the menu and couldn't tell me any details regarding the food. I don't hold this against the servers, but against the management. Pitiful to throw young people into a situation unprepared.
We love going to Powerhouse. It is a little on the pricey side, but, hey, you get what you pay for. I've never ordered anything here that I didn't love. You can't beat the oyster happy hour on Thursdays. Crab rolls are a favorite of mine. I always get at least one of their signature drinks, the Kilowatt. Always excellent service and professional waitstaff. I will admit, sometimes they are a little slow, but definitely worth the wait!!
My food was fine. The shrimp cocktail was mediocre at best. Small shrimp on the room of a martini glass with bottled cocktail sauce in the middle on a poor excuse for a piece of lettuce.
